RICK FINK

Rick is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fortis Advisors. His responsibilities at Fortis include operations, business development, client relations and the resolution of post-closing issues.

Rick has over three decades of advisory experience in venture and PE-backed M&A as a venture capitalist and an attorney. He co-founded and was Managing Director of Miramar Venture Partners, a traditional venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage companies for over ten years. While at Miramar, Rick led successful investments in and served on Boards of Directors of portfolio companies acquired in M&A transactions, and co-founded Fortis in connection with one of those.

Prior to founding Miramar, Rick was a senior corporate partner with the national law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. During his 20-year career at Brobeck, Rick worked on over a hundred M&A transactions involving both public and private companies, representing buyers and sellers. At Brobeck, Rick took the lead in structuring, negotiating and overseeing the execution of a wide range of sell-side acquisitions, working closely with both senior management and investors to achieve their objectives. In addition to his practice, Rick managed several of Brobeck’s regional offices and chaired Brobeck’s corporate law group nationwide.

Rick received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
